Telehealth

I'm excited to announce that I offer video or phone therapy while we are socially-distancing!

With traditional therapy, the experience has remained relatively unchanged since psychotherapy’s inception in the late 1800s. You arrive at a location, have a seat on the couch, and talk with your therapist about your challenges. Afterwards you depart and see each other a week or two later. Same time, same place. Video or phone therapy opens up a new way to communicate, and doesn’t require that you leave the comforts and safety of your home. You'll have the same quality therapy, but you can do so while not potentially exposing yourself and others to COVID.

Why Video or Phone Therapy is a Convenient and Safe Solution Video and phone therapy allows you to set the time, location, and initial direction of the therapeutic relationship. It’s a freedom that puts you, the client seeking mental health solutions, first. Therapy should not put you at risk of COVID. Now, it does not have to. We have options. There’s no “office” in online therapy — your session is wherever you have access to an internet connection.

Video and Phone Therapy is Entirely Confidential From a technological standpoint, video and phone therapy solutions offer a level of security and confidentiality on par with major world banks. Sessions between me and my clients are fully encrypted. Even in the event of a breach, attackers would simply see scrambled characters with no ability to trace the data back to the user.

Will insurance cover my video or phone sessions? Yes! Many insurance companies are now covering what they call "telehealth." I will contact your insurance provider and determine if the video and phone sessions will be covered. During COVID, some insurance companies, depending on your plan, are currently waiving co-pays and deductibles!
